The Hope Harbor is a not-for-profit clinic for pain management and opioid addiction therapy. It is located in West Lafayette, Indiana and was founded by The Han Institute. Both a Doctor of Chinese and Western Medicine, Dr. Angelica Kokkalis wanted to utilize Traditional Chinese Medicine to help people suffering from chronic pain and addictions to opioids.

About the Han Institute
The Han Institute was created to honor Professor Ji-Sheng Han and his outstanding work on the study of mechanisms of pain and acupuncture at his laboratory at the Beijing Medical University (Peking University of Health and Science), Beijing, China. Furthermore, the Institute highlights the work of modern Chinese scientists at various Chinese medical universities who have conducted research on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture. Through their research, the neuro-biological equivalents of such hypothetical constructs as Qi and meridians in TCM have been confirmed.
Mission Statement of The Han Institute
The Mission of the Han Institute is to bridge Eastern and Western medicine in the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders, the management of chronic illnesses and other chronic pain. Scientifically proven Han Protocols have been derived from the time-honored practice of TCM. These protocols were developed from Professor Han Ji Sheng a world renown Neurologist and his team at Peking University of Health and Science.
